Phka Rumduol Rice

In 1999, after a decade of meticulous development and trials, the Phka Rumduol rice variety was launched for agricultural use by CARDI. Over the subsequent 13 years, starting from 2000, concerted efforts were made to promote the adoption of Phka Rumduol among farmers, consumers, and vendors, highlighting its superior yield, quality, and market potential. The unwavering dedication and perseverance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' researchers, backed by international partners, predominantly the Australian Government, culminated in a triumph that stands as Cambodia's national treasure.

Phka Rumduol has been distinguished as the "World's Best Rice" on five occasions, a testament to its excellence.

It is now universally acknowledged that Phka Rumduol is synonymous with the World's Best Rice. It is imperative that we collaborate to cultivate authentic seeds and employ advanced post-harvest, milling, and packaging technologies. This will ensure that Phka Rumduol maintains its status as the World's Best Rice and continues to be a source of national pride for Cambodia.
